McLaren Artura Spider
Purple · Black interior · Gloss
The Artura is McLaren starting again: a clean-sheet carbon architecture with an electrified powertrain that lets it slip out of a driveway in near silence, then hand over to the V6 without ceremony. As a Spider it adds open sky to the newest thing McLaren makes. In purple it is the least anonymous car in the fleet, which is either the point or the problem.

What makes it special
- Plug-in hybrid system means it can move on electricity alone — useful for early starts and quiet neighbourhoods
- Open-top Spider body, so the powertrain change from silent to loud happens with nothing over your head
- Dihedral doors and a brand-new carbon structure — the current generation of McLaren, not a facelift of an old one
Worth knowing
The Artura is McLaren's first series-production high-performance hybrid, and it introduced an entirely new platform — the McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture — built at the company's own composites centre in Sheffield.
Your Arizona experience
A resort weekend suits it: out of a Paradise Valley driveway early without waking anyone, roof down once you are clear of the gates.
