The Z06 is not a faster Stingray; it is a different car. Chevrolet gave it a 5.5-litre flat-plane-crank V8 that revs to 8,600 rpm and sounds closer to a Ferrari than a Corvette, wrapped in a wider body. In black it looks almost understated, right up until the engine starts. This is the most serious machine in the fleet.
